Brand settings
How to set up groups, brands and sub-brands, edit a brand's identity, see its suppliers, tune the brand voice for AI drafts, and use the split proof view.
Screens may differ slightly from what you see.
What it is for
Brand Settings is where your company's brands live. The page shows a tree of groups, brands and sub-brands. Open a brand to see its identity, the suppliers that carry it, and links to related areas. A separate Brand Voice page tunes how AI-drafted messages sound for that brand.
Who can use it
- The menu entry (Admin > Brand Settings) is shown to people with the Manage Suppliers permission.
- On the page, the add, edit, move, archive and restore controls are shown only to the roles manager, director and owner. Other roles see the tree without the controls.
- The Brand Voice page can be edited by managers, directors and owners. Anyone else cannot save.
- The split proof page has no menu entry. It is a diagnostic view linked from the brand screens.
How to use it
Add a group or a brand
- Open Brand Settings. The heading reads "Brands" with the subtitle "Groups → brands → sub-brands for this tenant."
- Select Add Group and enter a Group Name. Or select Add Brand.
- For a brand, fill in Brand Name (required), Description, Website and Data-sharing posture. The choices are Brand private (default), Group shared, Tenant shared and Tenant configurable. The form says the posture is recorded now and enforcement arrives in a later milestone.
- To make a sub-brand, choose a Parent Brand, or use the add sub-brand button on a brand row. A sub-brand inherits its parent's group.
- Save.
Move, archive and restore
- Use the move actions on a brand row to Transfer to group or Re-parent. The form says sub-brands move with their parent, and that a brand adopts its new parent's group.
- Use Archive brand or Archive group to retire one. Tick Show archived to see archived items, then use Restore brand or Restore group.
- The page subtitle says lifecycle actions keep identity stable, so orders, stock and customers stay linked.
Open a brand
- Select a brand's name on the tree (Open brand detail).
- The Identity card shows name, description, website, data-sharing posture, group, parent brand and sub-brands. Select the edit button to open Edit Brand Identity, then Save Changes.
- The Suppliers card lists suppliers that carry the brand, with Supplier, Discount, Lead time (days) and Stock. It is read-only.
- The Connections & related card links to Connections, Brand voice, People & access, Web orders and Reports.
Tune the brand voice
- From a brand, open Brand voice. The title reads "
— Brand Voice". - Move the four sliders: Professional to Casual, Sincere to Playful, Polite to Direct, Firm to Flexible.
- Read the Live Preview. The page calls it a rule-based description of the current settings.
- Select Save Brand Voice. Reset to Centre puts every slider back to the middle.
The page says these settings apply only to AI drafts generated under that brand, and override the company-level brand voice for that brand's communications.
Split proof
The B2B / B2C split proof page lets you search products by name or SKU. For one product it shows a single shared on-hand figure and each brand's price (trade for a trade brand, retail for a retail brand). The page says this shows both brands drawing from one shared stock pool.
Tips
- Add brands before you assign them to people. See the Brand Access section in Manage users and roles.
- Archive a brand instead of deleting it. The page says this keeps orders, stock and customers linked.
- A brand's connections are set up under Integrations, which you can tag per brand. See Integrations and QuickBooks.
Things to know
- The Brands page also shows a row of tabs: Brands, Users & Permissions, Warehouses, Roles and Compliance. The pages those tabs open are not in the side menu and are not covered here.
- A brand with no suppliers shows "No suppliers are linked to this brand yet."
- The data-sharing posture is a record only for now, according to the form text.
