Unmatched product images
Sort the pictures from a supplier's media pack that could not be attached to a product by SKU, and say whether matched pictures are photos or line drawings.
Screens may differ slightly from what you see.
What it is for
Suppliers send packs of product pictures. The system attaches each file to a product by the SKU in its file name. Some files cannot be matched. This page shows them as pictures so a person can say what they are. It also lists matched pictures that nobody has marked as a photo or a line drawing yet.
The page is headed Unmatched Images.
Who can use it
- Actions: the server checks the product management right on every request. If you do not have it, the page says "You do not have permission to manage product images (products.manage)." or "You do not have permission to review product images (products.manage)."
How to use it
Say what a matched picture is
The top section is headed Needs review, with a count of images. Under the heading it shows the totals of photos and line drawings, and how many products have images but no confirmed photo. Customers see "no photo" for those products.
- For each picture, read the product (SKU and name) and the file name.
- Press Photo if it is a photo. A photo can go on quotes.
- Press Line drawing if it is a drawing with dimensions. A line drawing goes on the fitter's sheet only.
- Use Previous and Next to move through the pages.
If the list is empty it says "Nothing needs review."
Sort the unmatched files
The lower section shows "N files still to sort" with a split by reason, and a Reload link. The files are grouped:
- No SKU in the name. The file name has no product code. Look at the picture and choose the product.
- SKU belongs to another supplier. It was not attached there. Choose the right product from this supplier, or dismiss the file.
- Other unmatched files. This group only shows when it has files.
Each file is a card with the picture, its path in the pack, the SKU found in the name if any, and a warning if the SKU matches another supplier's product.
To attach a file:
- Press Attach to product on the card.
- Look at From the same folder. These are products that other files in the same folder were attached to. Pick one if it is right.
- Or type in the box ("Search name or SKU") and press Search. Only that supplier's products can be chosen.
- Pick the product. The page shows "Attached [file] to [product]."
To dismiss a file:
- Press Dismiss.
- Press Yes, dismiss to confirm, or cancel. The page shows "Dismissed [file]."
Each card also has It's a photo and It's a line drawing buttons to set what type of picture it is.
If a file cannot be read as an image, the card says so. Ingesting it again will not help. Get a readable copy from the supplier, or dismiss it.
Tips
- Use the From the same folder suggestions first. They are the likeliest match.
- Click a picture to open it larger in a new tab.
- Do not mark a drawing as a photo. A photo can reach customers on a quote.
Things to know
- Nothing is attached or dismissed unless you press a button. There is no automatic matching on this page.
- The page counts show the whole company's state, not just the page you are looking at.
- If the list is long, a card heading may say "Showing N of M". Sort some and press Reload to see more.

Common questions
What is the difference between a photo and a line drawing here?
A photo can go on quotes. A line drawing, with dimensions, goes on the fitter's sheet only. You press Photo or Line drawing for each matched picture.
Why would a file be unmatched?
The system attaches each file by the SKU in its file name. Files group by reason, such as No SKU in the name, or SKU belongs to another supplier, so you look at the picture and choose the product.
