Courier manifest templates
Build a saved template for each courier that maps the courier's column headings to your order fields, then generate the CSV or Excel manifest.
Screens may differ slightly from what you see.
What it is for
Each courier wants its manifest file with its own column headings. A template records those headings and which IBIOS field fills each one. You build it once, then generate files from it.
Who can use it
The page checks the role name. Only manager, director and owner can create, edit or delete a template. For anyone else the fields are greyed and a note says: "You have read-only access - only a manager can create or edit templates." Others can still click Generate.
How to use it
Build a template
- Open Courier Manifest Templates.
- Under New template, enter a name ("Template name (e.g. Royal Mail OBA)").
- Enter the Courier (a list suggests royal_mail, eu_fleet, articus, empire_gist, dpd, evri, tuffnells, parcelforce, but you can type any text). Pick the format: CSV or Excel (XLSX).
- Pick the row type: One row per order or One row per parcel / box. Box fields fill per parcel and order fields repeat down the rows.
- Optionally limit it to one brand, or leave All brands.
- Click Add column. For each column type the Courier header, then choose which of your fields fills it. Use the arrows to reorder and the bin to remove.
- Click Create template. A template needs a name and at least one column, and every column needs a header.
Edit or delete
In Saved templates, click Edit (or View if you are read-only), change it and click Save changes. Delete removes it.
Generate a manifest
- Under Generate a manifest, set a Dispatch date. This picks that day's dispatched orders for the template's courier.
- Or type specific order IDs, separated by commas or spaces. Order IDs override the date.
- In Saved templates, click Generate on the template.
- A message gives the file name. The page says the file downloads to your browser and the export is audited.
You can also use a template from the Dispatch Workbench, against orders you have ticked.
Tips
- Name a template after the courier account, as in the example "Royal Mail OBA".
- Hover the column count in the table to see each header and the field behind it.
Things to know
- The list of fields you can map comes from the server.
- The order IDs box wants the internal numbers, not shop references.
